Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Meandering

Headed out for a day on the lake.

Retirement. What a gift! Here Katie girl and I are wandering without time constraints or obligations.

We’re visiting family…

Riding the waves.

…sleeping in.

Good morning!

Taking lots of pictures of nothing much in particular.

Evening light on azalea.

Exploring places we’ve been many times, and other places we never knew existed.

Morning glow.

We’re watching the weather up north, trying to figure out when we might go home again. There doesn’t seem to be an urgency.

Dangerous dive bombing mockingbird.

Especially when we watch the weather patterns slide across the country full of snow and rain.

Might have to snuggle down here in the South for a bit longer.

Condo living.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Snuggled in in the south seems to be wise. And pleasant. And restful. I would love to join you if I could, but at least spring is showing signs of being real where I am.

  3. You’re blessed to have this time with the princess and your family. Go ahead — hunker down and relax, it’s GOOD for you both! There will be plenty of time to return (here’s hoping you bring some nice warmth back with you!!)

    • I know. It’s unusual for me to be able to be down here for this long and to see my brother and sister so often. It’s been good. I’ll try to pack the sunshine and warm temps when we head back north. But some people down here might be upset if I take it all.

  7. no rushing is a wonderful thing. Stay in the south- there’s a blizzard up here in the north!

    • I heard something like that. Not watching the news, but seeing pictures on FB is bad enough! It’s COLD here now, going into the 20s tonight. That’s frigid down here. Still, it beats shoveling snow!

  8. I love the condo living picture. When the wind blows, do they knock together like bamboo wind chimes?
