It’s spring here in Michigan and along with warmer (read hot lately) temperatures comes spring flowers.

One of my favorite spring pretties, this bleeding heart is more than twenty-five years old; I brought it with me to this house years ago and never thought that it would just keep on giving.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

You know, I cannot remember ever seeing a bleeding heart in person. Such a pretty little flower.

How interesting–you never think of flowers in black and white!

I know. That’s why I wanted to do this particular challenge. Usually it’s all about the color. So it was interesting to think only of shape or texture.

I never knew this plant could last that long — wow, you must have a green thumb, Dawn!
