Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

Not fair mama!

Katie here. I’m at ‘camp.’ And let me tell you there’s nothing about it that reminds me of camping.

And mama is off having fun.

Not fair mama!

I’m posting a pic from our last trip together in the hope it makes her feel bad and come home and spring me from this joint!

So there. I got to see the bridge too, just a couple weeks ago. It was really cool. And now she’s off up north somewhere cavorting around with daddy and I’m stuck here.

Let me tell you, she better have a real good excuse for dumping me at camp. Cause just any little ole reason isn’t going to cut it with me.

And you can be darn sure I’ll be getting her up even earlier unless she makes amends.

Signing off for now.

Your gal (but not my mama’s gal) Katie.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  1. Sometimes life isn’t fair, Katie, but sometimes we just have to deal with it quietly. Shhh, don’t tell – but while we’re being quiet, we can be thinking, thinking, thinking – about how to even it all out.

  2. Uh-oh, somebody sounds MAD!! Dawn, I hope you’re getting in a lovely vacation (and a relaxing one) because I fear you’re going to be paying for it big time!! The older Dallas gets, the harder I find it to leave him at “camp.”

  3. Oh, dear, Katie–you sound a little…how do I say this? Ticked off? I hope your time at the joint gets better. Be gentle with Mama, though.

  5. Tell ’em Katie, that you’re a seasoned traveler. You have earned you “Excellent Traveler” badge, and deserve to with them everywhere.

  6. Hmm, that isn’t fair. Woo should get two treats for every day they are not with woo. That would be only fair.

  7. My cat peed in my suitcase before I left for Belgium one year. Animals do have a way of conveying their feelings of abandonment, don’t they? How I wish my cat had been as eloquent as Katie. Might have spared me an entire wardrobe purchase in Brussels.
