I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Yes, she has a good life, and sometimes she even acknowledges that she’s a bit spoiled. Most of the time she expects it as due her because she is, after all, a princess.

It’s actually that the hearth stone is cooler (I think there’s a draft from the fireplace) and she likes cooler.

This is a recent (as in the past 3 weeks) development. It’s cooler on the stone and I think we keep the house too hot for her. No air conditioning blowing out of the vents, so this drafty fireplace is the best she can find.

It’s obvious to me this fireplace isn’t burning. My Dallas never liked being hot! In fact, he’d have preferred sleeping on that nice, clean floor rather than the rug. Precious photo, lucky Sheltie-girl!

She hates being hot too. The stone hearth is cooler than the wood floor which is cooler than the rug. And I think there’s a draft from the fireplace (which we rarely burn) so the heart is extra cool. I think the two of them are very similar.
