We planted a little ‘wild flower’ garden this spring, and it’s in full bloom now. Lots of pretty blossoms, mostly annuals, reaching for the sky.

Our little bit of wildflowers.
This week three sunflowers began to bloom.

Promises of sun arriving soon.
Today one of them opened.

You are my sunshine…
I smile everytime I walk past this patch of flowers, but now with the sunflower I positively grin.

The details are amazing.
Hope you are smiling too!

Pink is pretty too.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

I’m sure the wildflower garden is great, but there just is something about sunflowers, isn’t there?

There sure is. So much intricacy. And the color…

I certainly am! I even like the way the sunflower looks just before it blooms. Plus, your header photo guarantees that I am going to smile.

I liked it before it was in full bloom too. I’m glad I went out and got that shot because the next morning it was totally different.

That’s the wonderful thing about nature and plants. Always changing.

You were more successful with your wildflower project than I was — mine never really got “off the ground”! I blame the weather — too hot for me to move bricks — and the pandemic — hard enough concentrating on the things that need to be done, without turning to things I’d like to do. But thanks for the smile this morning!

That’s it, I’m loading up my hives, we’re headed your way. My wildflower patch is only populated with zinnias now. Everything else has petered out.

Last night the wildflower garden patch was humming with bees. As is my basil which has gone to seed.

Pretty Sunflower!
Just stopping by to say hi. Benji is good. I still miss my Lassie. I joined a Sweet Adeline Choir last year, and its been horrible not being able to be together with the choir and sing together. We do Zoom on the computer to stay together. We are planning to do our first real rehearsal soon wearing masks and social distancing. We are going to try to sing in a park.
I was upset so much during the Pandemic, I was home more but I didn’t have my Lassie to spend time with because he died in January.
It’s been emotional, but I am ok.
I hope you are well. I will look at a few more posts.

Hi Teresa and Benji and Angel Lassie! We are so happy to see you here! We think of you often. I know it must be extra hard with your beloved Lassie. Singing would have helped you but without that either things are rough. I play in a community band and we’re thinking about doing an outside concert, socially distanced, in a park too, the end of September. I better get to practicing! Glad to have you stop by, I hope you are feeling less awful day by day but I know it’s hard.
