I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Agree. Katie and I were playing in the back yard and I said, “hey girl, let’s go on a walk in the back of our lot ” (they are building a house behind us so I wanted to see what had been done) and we started back there and then I noticed this doe relaxing back there, so we turned around and went inside.

She checked Katie and me out, but wasn’t too concerned.

I can’t believe you got that close to this deer! Dawn, you must be an animal-whisperer!!

She was pretty relaxed, and I was using a long lens. But she watched me come about halfway to her.

She was definitely keeping an eye on Katie. Katie, on the other hand, never saw her.

This made me smile. 🙂 We haven’t seen much of our deer lately. They’re in hiding until hunting season ends.

Very nice photo. Do you suppose this deer is happy or irritated to see you? I can’t read his expression.

She was casually watching us, she didn’t seem to be bothered by me, but I didn’t stay out there too long.

She was, I think she’s the same one I saw a couple days ago with her guy.

The first words that came to Dad’s mind looking in the Doe’s expression was that the doe was saying “Do you think my butt is big.” We would answer “Of course not deer.” Yes, we have an off beat sense of humor. A lot happened this week. Tropical Storm Eta passed by us, the 55th anniversary of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, Veterans Day.
We are glad you are doing well and appreciate you dropping us a line.
