I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Well, they like that I give them food, anyway.

These little birds are precious. We’re trying to attract some different ones in our yard, but it’s slow going. What fun to see these!

I’m really lucky at the variety we have visiting our feeders. Still, there are so many birds around here that I never see at a feeder, so I’m always learning.

Free buffet! I have to live vicariously through your birdfeeding devices.
I can’t tell what’s up with the yellow dude’s beak in the last photo–is he carrying something? Moving his beak while you’re snapping the photo?

Hmmmmm. I went to look. He was definitely eating, and the beak was probably moving!

Great photos! It is great to see the birds back – I have had my seed feeder out all winter, but my hummingbird feeders went up two weekends ago. I see birds in the morning and in the evening but no hummingbirds yet.

My hummingbird feeder froze last night so I brought it in today. Would freeze tonight too, so left it in. Will put out fresh tomorrow. Haven’t seen any hummers yet here either, though the migration map says they are here.
