I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Yes, that’s what I went outside to capture, and then two cars came down the road and stopped to watch them.

Sweet. The last one looks like it has ambitions to be a baby giraffe.

They really are. No mama to be seen for the past few weeks. But they have each other.

Just simply lovely! I never tire of seeing them (and, of course, I do not have any eating my garden, either…)

Well yea. Though this year the babies haven’t found our day lily plants. I think mama would have introduced them but she’s not been around for a very long time.

I bet. Oh… and not been around for a long time in the sense that she is a young mother or that they seem to have been abandoned?

I think something happened to her and they are on their own.

Cute. Have you seen the adults yet? These guys seem healthy, so can’t believe they are 100% on their own.
The fawn I saw over the weekend was smaller/younger than these guys – it looked like a fawn you’d see in May more than in July!

I hope she is OK. I have heard about mamma deer dropping their kids off someplace they think is safe while they forage, but if you haven’t seen them at all in that long…

Oh, gosh, it looks like a convention! They’re terribly cute, but I don’t think I’d want them in my yard. I’ve heard they can be mean. I don’t want to make your eyes leak, but I think you might need another watchdog??
