I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

He wasn’t happy to realize I was still standing out on the deck. He wasn’t about to give up the pile of seed I’d just put out.

The squirrel’s face in the third photo says it all! So funny. Expand that menu or words getting out in a heartbeat.

Was reading your post about Katie your dog. I don’t know if you believe in God, but people who had near-death experiences have discovered that the dog. or pet they took care of, is in heaven waiting for them. I had to tell you that – you will see your doggie again!

I’m counting on her being there. I wouldn’t be able to get through this if I didn’t believe that.

We have crazy noisy chipmunks. Didn’t matter so much once Katie couldn’t hear anymore….but boy…when she could hear they caused mayhem!

Love your photos from the backyard. There is something calming and centering about sitting outside and watching nature. Peace.

I’m lucky I have a nice deck with some shade and lots of crazy nature stuff happening in my yard.

I am struggling. This morning seems to be especially hard, for no apparent reason. I can’t imagine how hard this is for parents whose children die. Or even spouses, or siblings. It’s just so FOREVER…

These little critters are so amusing — and I love the expression in your third photo! That one does look as if he’d like a different chef … or maybe a different special-of-the-day?!!
