I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

These late winter sunny days have been a blessing, and a surprise. Hearing and seeing more birds in the backyard at the feeders. Have a great Wednesday!

Sure are. There was a whole flock of them in the crab apple tree when we went out that morning. By the time I went back inside for the camera there was only this guy.

Robins were my favorite bird as a child. Now, I rarely see them, but when I do, I can’t help singing “When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin’ along.”

There were several robins in the tree when we went out that morning, eating the dried up crab apples. The sun was just coming up and it was soooo pretty!

OHHHHHH!!!!!! I’m on the lookout, but haven’t seen one yet. Seems like spring will be early though, and I am 100% OK with that.

I bet they’re around somewhere. You’ll see them soon. I’ve heard some people around here say they have red-winged blackbirds too. I haven’t heard them here yet but I haven’t been outside much this week. They, for me, are the true proof of spring!

Yes. a beautiful Robin Redbreast enjoying berries on a sunny day. More and more of them are overwintering now, especially if they have berries like these to eat.

Yes, we see a few all winter, particularly at the heated birdbath. This robin was part of a big flock in the tree eating the dried crabapples in the sun. Was very cool.

You really got a good close-up of this robin Dawn – a sunny day means a world of difference to our photos and our soul. Yesterday and today were pretty, but a bit brutal to walk between the cold and wind.

I LOVE that!! Our robins never left all winter. First time since I’ve been paying attention: maybe 9 years? Mild winter. So they’ll just be claiming territories in the next two weeks or so. Nice to see a photo like this, though!!

I didn’t see a lot of them this winter, but one here and there. This guy was part of a big flock of them all over the tree, eating crab apples from last year. By the time I went back in for the camera and came back out there was only the one left in the tree. But it was a cool sight.
