I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Yes, when I took the picture it was of the prominent bird, and I took it only to ID the bird because with the light and distance I couldn’t tell what it was just by looking. When I looked at the image l saw the second bird. There were a bunch of them flying around and making a ruckus, I’d be surprised if there wasn’t another one or two hidden in there somewhere, but I only see the two.

I think 2 as well, but there were a bunch of them flying around making noise, so I wouldn’t be surpried if there’s a third hidden in there.

I like them too, and agree there’s two in this shot. I wish I had been able to capture when they were flying and the yellow underside of their tails show.

I see two as well…now. When I took it I only saw the prominent one and I grabbed the image just to ID the bird as I couldn’t tell what it was based on the light and the distance. Plus my eyes. LOL

I’m guessing two as well; however, since I’m not totally sure of the ID on the bird at the right, I’ll accept that I might be wrong.

I think you are right. I see two. When I took the picture I thought there was just the one.

I say two, playing hide-and-go-seek with each other.

Yes, they were flying around along with several of their brothers or sisters, making a bug ruckus.

There were a bunch flying around and being very noisy. I couldn’t tell what they were, they were in shadows and then bright light. I snapped this just to ID the bird and thought there was only one bird in the shot..but it turns out (I think) there are 2.

Very possibly, though I only see 2. But there was a whole big group of them flying around so it’s possible there’s a 3rd one tucked in there.

Two flickers for the price of one! Ours have migrated away for the season. Ours will be back in late November!
