Penny here. Guess what? Guess what, guess what, guess what?!!!

Mom accidentally found out that today is LUCKY PENNY DAY!

Wow! An entire day where the whole country celebrates ME!

Personally I always knew I was special but mom tried to keep the lid on it so to speak, so I didn’t get a big head. But she can’t hide my greatness anymore…why, there’s a day just for ME!

Oh. Wait. They’re talking about real pennies? The kind you find in parking lots? The kind they don’t even make anymore?

What the heck people!

I say we start a letter writing campaign to get me nominated to be the official LUCKY PENNY.

Geeze.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

    Penny! A day for you? Every day is special day because of you. You make your momma smile and happy just being you. Keep up the amazing work of being Penny. Oh, and you and your momma still doing this ‘trials’?

      Well Mr. Clay, since my dad has been feeling poorly I haven’t been able to go to much doggy school. Mom was worried I forgot everything! (Mom has so little faith) But yesterday she and I went to get a private lesson and guess what? I remember 99% of it. To be honest the 1% I ‘forgot’ mostly is just stuff I don’t want to do anyway, and never did. Hee hee.

      So mom is considering signing us up for a trial that will be in July. She thinks she can fix that 1%. I have serious doubts. She forgets who’s in charge. Silly mom.

    Hi, Pretty Penny! I agree! There should be a special day to celebrate you, in addition to your birthday and the day you came home. Even without a federal declaration, you are loved beyond measure by your mom & dad, your auntie, and your huge online family! 💕😊

    I agree with you Penny – let’s rally and get you your own day, maybe even your own postage stamp! We could suggest Mom’s pic of you “Penny in the Peonies”. You’ll send us all pawprints, right?

      Thank you Ms. Sara! I appreciate your support! Mom says every day is Penny Day around here, but I disagree. I think Penny Day would be centered on MORE FOOD and that isn’t happening.

      I think I bring luck for my mom and dad, that’s for sure, Ms. Karma! Sometimes they don’t agree but on the whole we’re a pretty lucky family. I count myself the reason. Right?
