I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Nothing patient about Katie…but yes she does get that Santa may be arriving any moment.

I always thought it would charming to have a wood fireplace. Now I’ve had two, and burned about as many fires. They *are* charming…as long as some one else is responsible for keeping a neat woodpile and cleaning up the fire, and starting the fire without smoking up the whole house 😉 Enjoy your gas logs 🙂 🙂

It really turned out pretty. We’ve been living with a hole there for years. And years and years. Previous sheltie liked to go in there and sleep because it was cooler in there. Katie didn’t care so much one way or the other.

It’s really pretty. I like to just look at it. I don’t turn it on very often because to me watching a gas fire is like watching dollar bills burn.
