Change Is Hard

…but change is certain.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Delicate

While Katie and I were up north we happened across a wildflower garden that had attracted a lot of monarch butterflies.

You may or may not know that the monarchs are endangered and oh so delicate. It was good to see many of them enjoying the garden on the shores of Lake Michigan.

I felt privileged to have been there while they were lunching.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

  2. Beautiful photographs. I live in NJ, and most years the swallowtails are the predominant big butterfly. This year they seem to be in lesser quantities, but oh the joy…the monarchs seem abundant and this makes me so happy. We see less and less milkweed in our area so I’m thankful for every monarch that visits the zinnias in my gardens.
