We hope you all have a fabulous holiday, however you celebrate it. Our wish for everyone is that 2021 is a more peaceful, healthier year. We’ll do our part by wearing our mask and keeping our distance for as long as it takes, even though we are very sad not to be with family this year.
We are grateful for all your friendships, and look forward to continuing the adventure soon!

Happy cuteness from Michigan!

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

thanks for the holiday cuteness from Michigan!! stay warm and i enjoy looking at your snow, because Eugene gets snow every 3 years and it only lasts a few days. we get mostly rain and fog for nine months! we are snuggled up in our little family bubble of 5 people so we are doing ok with the virus. Oregon has been very vigilant and our numbers are some of the best in the nation. there are pockets of resistance to masks and those people get arrested when they try to bully their way into a store. i pray that small businesses survive and that our homeless population finds safe shelter. Barry and i work on the homeless issue here in Eugene ( we have a high percentage) but because of the virus, people in our age bracket are not allowed to help this year. on another note, my bird feeder is maxed out with finches, nuthatches, juncos and chickadees. your photos always make me happy!! best of wishes sent your way, Bess

Hi Bess, so good to hear from you! It makes sense that your state is keeping a good handle on the virus. Michigan is handling it better than some states, but we have a huge resistance to the mask and they don’t get arrested. I know it’s really hard on businesses, especially small businesses, I don’t know how they will survive. And the homeless, we have big problems there too. I hope you are able to volunteer soon.
I love my birds at the feeder, they are a lot of entertainment these days when we don’t get to go on many adventures. Mostly we (Katie and I) go for walks in the woods, and even there people we meet are wearing masks, as am I, when I see someone coming. So far Katie has resisted wearing a mask.
Let’s hope that 2021 is WAY better than 2020 was. I think back to the New Year this past January, before regular folks like us knew what was coming. Boy were we unaware! I hope we aren’t struck by anything worse in 2021!

Happy Christmas! Ours was a quiet Christmas but very memorable with porch visits and virtual visits. Something to remember, the blessings we still have. Hopefully a vaccination in the spring.
