I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

I have Mr and Mrs Cardinal in my yard, but nothing like this! Beautiful, Dawn.

To my best count I have 5 couples here this winter. They like to eat in the evenings, sometimes missing the meal because there are so many other birds scarfing up the food before the cardinals decide to arrive. I guess they think they are royalty.

Last night during dinner I counted 6 male cardinals. I had just put out their evening supper and they all arrived on time.

Yes, I’m working through hundreds of birds out the back window photos. I was scrolling by a bunch of cardinals in the bushes shots and this one made me stop and smile. So it eared a place on Wordless Wednesday.

Thank you. I have 5 cardinal couples this winter. In the winter they flock together more. During nesting season and most of the summer you don’t see more than one at a time because they chase each other away from the food.

Well, you certainly were in the right place at the right time! I’ve seen a few (mostly males, for some odd reason), but they scamper before I can get their photo. Maybe the Monk has clued them in that one picture equals one treat?!
