A woodpecker felt his family would be safer if they had a back door. So he remodeled a bluebird house in our yard.
But then he never moved in. Guess he still had security issues.

I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Sheesh. How rude to remodel without a permit and then not move in!

Looks like security is a big concern even in the bird world — very clever, that woodpecker!

How amazing – I wonder if the woodpecker would have felt safer if the original door was blanked out? You’ve made me realise I don’t know much about how woodpeckers build their nests!
