Katie here.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that mama has been gallivanting all over the state again. You might have also noticed I was not invited.

Well I certainly noticed. When I got sick, way back last spring, mama promised me she’d never leave me again. Apparently she is not to be trusted.
But, since I am a sheltie and since I love my mama so much I have decided to forgive her, because she feels bad enough that I wouldn’t eat my kibble while she was gone. Daddy had to feed me chicken and rice again.

I suppose, in the interest of full disclosure, I should tell you that mama made the chicken and rice for me before she left, just in case daddy felt like he needed it to make me happy.

So I guess she was thinking about me even though she was off having fun without me.
The pictures in this post were taken at my house and in my yard. Mama took me on a walk around the yard as soon as she got home. She thinks that makes up for leaving me.

I might let her believe that, ’cause it makes her happy. And don’t tell her, but whatever makes mama happy makes me happy.
Signing off, your girl Katie.
OH!! I almost forgot! Miss Robin is going to do Walktober again this year! That means we all should go for a walk, sometime between October 11th and the 25th, and then blog about it and link back to Miss Robin’s blog. (Mama says the link above is to an old post, but it explains how Walktober works. Miss Robin will have a new post about it soon.) Mama says she’s thinking about where I can go now that I’m a senior and walk so slow. She says she’ll figure it out. I can’t wait! You should check it out too. Just tell Miss Robin that Katie sent you. 🙂

Aw, our dogs sure miss us when we’re gone. It’s so nice how they welcome us back and get right back to normal. 🙂

Yes it is. She barks at me for a bit when I first get home, she wants a hug right away, jumps into my arms, but it’s like she says…right after that….’wait a minute, you LEFT ME!” and then she barks and barks and won’t let me touch her, and then she goes and sits with her back to me for awhile, and then, apparently, we’re even.

HI Katie–yes, pink is most definitely your color! Mama has taken some wonderful pictures though, hasn’t she? I mean, they’re not pictures of you, but kinda pretty anyway. I can’t wait to see pictures of your walks. The fall leaves should look beautiful as your background colors.

Fall walks are her favorite thing to do. Right after eating.

I’m with Lois. Pink is definitely your color, Katie. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your Walktober outing. If I lived nearby, I’d join you. With my creaky knees, I bet we’d be perfect walking companions.

I have to say, I’m slow too, so she and I do our very very slow walk together, and neither one of us laughs at the other. Too much anyway.

She says it’s hard not to forgive mama given mama makes most of her meals.

This getting old thing is not easy, is it Katie? My Shasta tells me that every day – she tells me how she’s coming as fast as she can, because her old hips and shoulder make it hard to go fast, or to go very far before she has to lay down and rest. It’s okay though, because I don’t go very fast anymore either. And yes, pink is your color. One of your colors – I think you would be beautiful in any color, Katie.

She especially likes fall colors because they compliment her coloring so much. She thinks fall was invented just for her. It may have been.

Aw, Katie. They say getting old isn’t for sissies. I admire your bravery … and your forgiving spirit. I’m sure your mama feels bad enough leaving you without you reminding her of it. And I’m really looking forward to Walktober this year — we ALL need a get-away outside in nature!

Katie, you melt my heart!! Don’t tell Marley, though, cause she would be really jealous. She has a hard enough time sharing me with 3 kittens now. *Marley is NOT a fan of sharing he Momma with kittens*

I understand, Miss Angie! I’m not a fan of any kittens either. Sometimes mama comes home from somewhere and she smells like CAT! Man that makes me mad. But being a princess I never show it. I just ignore her those days. She doesn’t deserve my attention if she’s playing with cats!

It makes me happy that you will be joining in again this year, Princess Katie. You are the only princess who participates and I feel honored that you do. Pink is definitely your color, but I suspect you look good with any color at all. 🙂

Thank you Miss Robin! I’m really excited to see what mama figures out for me! I haven’t had many (any!) adventures this summer, so a nice walk somewhere would be so good!

Pink definitely is your color, Katie, you are gorgeous in pink. In fact, you are gorgeous in any color … it’s just that you are so stunning in pink.
