I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

Thank you. None of them really liked sharing. But the cardinal was less likely to be chased off by the little birds, and in fact chased off his share of them before he was banished by the return of the woodpecker.

Yes, there was a continuous dance while I was out there. Who gets the best peanut. Who waits their turn? Who’s the bully? Who’s the gentle little bird.

I didn’t see her at all during this particular feeding frenzy.

This is like watching bird ballet. Except for that first one which looks like ‘diver-bomber’ dancing. These are wonderful, Dawn.

That first one might be a break dancer.

What lovely photos! It’s great seeing these birds up close and in action. I’m never fast enough to get them with my camera — you’re a real pro at that!

I would go there every day if it weren’t so far away from me. I’ve even considered moving to the town near the park just because the park is so wonderful.

Gorgeous pictures! That stump must be a popular place to perch! The robins that frequent my yard can be quite vocal, territorial, and aggressive. They compete with other birds for the best spot in one of my ornamental pear trees to take their morning sun bath. Last month there were 23 robins in that tree, at the same time, gobbling up the remaining pea-sized fruits at the very ends of the branches. I was very surprised that they all agreed share the same buffet with no fussing!
I hope you and your husband have a nice Christmas, Dawn! 🎄 My Christmas dinner/getting together with family will be delayed this year. The Grinch tried to steal Christmas by “gifting” me C19. Santa will be making a stop here for Gracie pup – she has been a very good girl! 💕 🐾

Robins flock together at the end of summer, are less territorial than they are in the spring when they’re setting up households. I’m so sorry about the Covid thing…I hope your symptoms are few and you’re able to be with family soon. And I’m very glad Gracie has been a good pup…well, of COURSE she is a good pup! I love that name. It’s what I have always wanted to name a dog. 🙂
